Single tooth implants are composed of a titanium post (aka implant), an abutment, and a restoration in the form of a dental crown. The implant process starts by having the implant inserted into your jaw surgically in the gap left by your missing tooth. Then we’ll wait 3-6 months for the implant to fuse with your jaw bone, becoming your new tooth root. Once the implant has healed, Dr. Richard Flores will attach an abutment to hold your replacement tooth. We’ll wait an additional two weeks for the abutment to heal before placing a dental crown on top of your replacement tooth.
