We often see patients at Rich Flores, DDS, LLC, who haven’t seen a dentist in a long time. Although dentists recommend patients to see them every six months, some people allow these months to turn into years and sometimes even decades. Routine exams and cleanings are essential to remove stains from teeth and keep your smile in optimal health. But with your hands full with family, job, and personal responsibilities, finding time to see your dentist can be difficult.Â
Dr. Rich Flores of Willoughby, Ohio, finds people miss routine dental treatments for various reasons.
Even though you brush and floss your teeth at home, you can never be keen enough to eliminate all dental woes. First, every mouth has trouble spots that are hard to access with home dental tools. Secondly, certain dental issues can only be spotted with a trained eye, so they can go unnoticed under your watch, becoming big and painful.
If you haven’t seen a dentist for years, these are some problems you can expect.
When you visit us, we’ll start with a comprehensive dental exam to inspect your mouth for signs of infection, cavities, misalignment, mouth cancer, etc. We’ll also recommend dental X-rays to examine your oral health beneath the gum line. Based on your dental exams, we’ll devise a treatment plan to restore your oral health. We’ll also extensively clean your teeth to remove built-in plaque and dental calculus (tartar). That’s it! You are now done with your dental exam. We expect to see you in the next six months, even if you’ll have no cavities.
Whether you haven’t seen a dentist in years or have never been to a dentist at all, it’s never too late to save your smile.
Please call (440) 856-8774 to schedule an appointment with Rich Flores, DDS, LLC. We won’t judge or reprimand you for missing out on routine dental exams.
All we are interested in is putting your smile on a healthy track.
