Most of us take the gorgeous smiles of our youth for granted. It never occurred to us that someday we would open up a group photo that one of our friends took and notice that our pearly whites are no longer pearly or white. If that’s happened to you, Dr. Rich Flores and his team can use Opalescence Boost to restore the brilliant smile you love.Â
Professional in-office teeth whitening by a dentist usually takes about an hour. Dr. Flores carefully applies the whitening gel to protect your gums and other soft tissue. The whole process is constantly supervised, and you walk out with a brighter smile. Store-bought products can’t compare to professional teeth whitening.
Over-the-counter teeth whitening products you buy at the same place where you have your tires changed don’t last nearly as long as the results you get with prescription-strength Opalescence Go.
Here’s how long results from different teeth-whitening methods last:
Before you have your teeth whitened, Dr. Flores’ team cleans your teeth. Then he checks your mouth to make sure it’s safe for you to proceed with whitening. He’ll look at your starting shade and the type of stains you have. He’ll also make sure existing dental work is in good condition.
Dr. Flores does a check for things like cavities and gum disease first. He’ll also make sure you don’t have any worn enamel or cracks in your teeth. These issues can cause sensitivity if they aren’t addressed before you have your teeth whitened.
Over-the-counter whitening kits aren’t designed for your mouth. That means they can irritate your gums or make some teeth more sensitive than others. At Dr. Flores’ office, his trained staff places barriers around your gums and monitors your progress while the whitening does its job. If you start to feel any sensitivity, they can adjust the treatment immediately.
In-office whitening can brighten your smile in about an hour, so it’s a great option if you have a job interview or special occasion like a wedding coming up. Just give yourself a little cushion for planning. Just in case Dr. Flores finds a cavity or something like that.
